“We have vast retirement happening out of job markets and we don’t have the population behind it to fill the jobs that they are leaving, and the Baby Boomers have the nerve to create jobs as they retire, and it is all in the healthcare industry,” Supplee explained. This creates a rising local demand for caregivers, who can be difficult to find.
Alaska is at the forefront of this increase, with a senior growth rate of over 68 percent. The United States has an aging population.
